More Living Desert Zoo Photos

These are pictures from the Living Desert Zoo in Palm Springs CA. I am a member so I can go a take pictures any time. I love this place. It is very pretty! They have many desert animals, flowers, and a butterfly garden. It's a nice place for photographers in the area to take pictures. Flickr's favorite is the humming bird. It is a hard shot to get because the humming birds are always moving. I used the orton effect on that picture! These photos can also be found on my Flickr account as well.

  5. I really like your photographs. They are special and you are very talented.

I see you are in Palm Springs. The last time I was there I was about 17 or 18 and had hitchhiked from Ohio to Tucson, met a lady school teacher from Mass (on the bus) on her way to Palm Springs to the then Hotel Desert Air Parkway where she worked as a waitress. She said she made more money there over the summer in tips than she did teaching a year in Mass. Anyway, I went to see her there and while there I went to a drugstore that had a soda fountain and bought a cup of coffee. I had to pay 50 cents. I was stunned. I had been paying 5 to 10 cents a cup everywhere else.

The only other thing I remember about your city is that the post office was open air downtown and people walked around in shorts and barefoot. For a farm type boy from Ohio, it was a shocker.
